I never saw such a great wooden blade and such a brilliant and detailed handle for those tpye of swords. The wood is very light and also the handle, means it's well balanced as well. I wasn’t sure what to expect because this was an anime based katana for my son. The sword is made excellent. It has good balance and it is actually built like a real katana. I was worried it would be like something from a pawn shop or cheap knock off store. I’m extremely pleased.

I LOVE THE KATANA; good quality, well-made. Not very much weight to it, but it's sharp, the obsidian black blade came nicely oiled and wrapped (easily slid off), and it's going to be added to my collection. However, one complaint (a minor one) was the plastic wrapping of the katana handle; This wrapping stuck to the handle, was NOT removed easily because once I tried pulling it off, it ripped and kept on ripping into little tiny strips of plastic wrap still stuck to the handle! I had to patiently use tweezers to get the little plastic wrap pieces off of the handle, and it scuffed the nice leather on the handle.
But overall, I am pleased with this katana.
