Can I sharpen these blue Demon Slayer replica swords?

 Updated Feb 2026

While the 1045 carbon steel is technically capable of taking an edge, we strongly advise against sharpening. These replicas are manufactured and sold as collectible display pieces, not as functional cutting tools. Sharpening alters the blade geometry and removes the surface finish that gives the blue Nichirin its distinctive appearance. It can also void any return eligibility. If you appreciate the look of a honed edge, the factory finish already features a visible edge bevel that photographs well and looks convincing on display without presenting unnecessary risk during handling.
