Product Details

This Han Dynasty Jian features a 12.5-inch 1045 carbon steel blade heat-treated to 58 HRC. The flat of the blade is engraved with a dense seigaiha (fish-scale wave) pattern that catches light along every curve, while the edge itself is hand-finished to a clean, refined profile. At 1.5 lbs for the blade alone, the steel delivers a satisfying heft without dragging the balance point forward.

The handle runs 6.5 inches in hardwood, wrapped with black cord over red ray-skin for grip texture and moisture management. A bronze-toned alloy guard sits at the blade junction, cast in a squared profile with traditional Chinese key-fret motifs carved into each face. The matching pommel cap mirrors the guard's scrollwork, closing out the hilt with visual symmetry.

Bronze alloy fittings appear at five points along the scabbard and hilt - guard, pommel, scabbard mouth band, midsection collar, and endcap. Each piece carries interlocking ring patterns and geometric borders drawn from Han-era decorative traditions. A black leather cord band at the scabbard's center provides a carry point and breaks up the wood grain with contrasting texture.

The scabbard itself is crafted from wenge and rosewood, showing a rich brown grain with natural tonal variation across its 12.5-inch length. The matte surface finish lets the wood's figure speak for itself, while the brass-toned metal bands protect high-wear zones at the mouth and tip. This is a standout piece among our Han Sword collection for its level of decorative hardware.

At 29 inches overall and 3 lbs total, this Jian balances well for one-handed forms in tai chi or wushu practice. Collectors drawn to Han Dynasty aesthetics will appreciate the period-accurate fittings and natural hardwood construction. Each piece is individually handcrafted, so minor variations in grain and patina make every sword unique. For more straight-blade Chinese designs, browse our full Han Sword selection. Very nice historic style Chinese sword. Excellent fittings and scabbard. Not very sharp, would need work to be a "cutting" sword, but for the price, I think it is a fine value. Size is smallish, but accurate to the period it represents.

Every sword is better than the next. I am consistently impressed with the quality of Truekatana. Their colored blades are absolutely gorgeous, and the steel-grade appears to be exactly what they claim it is.r
Shipping was also very fast and well-packed.r

Handmade Chinese Straight Double Edged Sword High Manganese Steel Han Dynasty With Brown Scabbard: r
The "fishscale" engraved Jian is a work of art. Perfectly balanced and handsome redwood, I can see why they tout this model as something of a flagship.r

Handmade Chokuto Ninjato And Tanto Sword Set With Blue Blade:r
The blades are the selling point here. They are a lovely deep-blue with a slight reddish purple gradient in the light, with a striking pattern down the spine. The pattern is adhered very well to the surface. The grips and fittings are a bit on the cheap-side but they are designed for "minimalist, tactical use" so they may just what some people are looking for. The blades are still full tang, as evidenced by the great balance point.r

Handmade Japanese Katana Sword With Golden Blade And Brown Scabbard:r
This is a hidden gem. I feel like it resembles a "Dao" in many ways, but the blade does appear to have a traditional katana-style taper. The use of leather and the bronze-like highlights on the scabbard are stunning. The golden blade is a subtle hue, not overpowering, giving it a very classy appearance.r

Was disappointed in the hilt on the sword! The blade and scabbard was excellent! Wish you had made the hilt stong enough to take a blow. Thank you.

Really solid piece for the price, would recommend as a gift for friends or family. My brother loved it for his birthday, especially since we have been into Elden Ring so much recently. Would buy from this site again when I'm not broke :)
