Product Details

This full tang katana features a 28.74-inch manganese steel blade finished in a striking blue tone with a vivid raging fire style hamon running along the edge. Hardened to 58 HRC, the steel holds a refined edge while the blue surface treatment gives the entire blade a deep, oceanic character that shifts under changing light. The contrast between the bright hamon peaks and the blue-finished spine creates a dramatic visual rhythm from habaki to kissaki.

The 10.23-inch hardwood tsuka is wrapped in black PU samegawa beneath tightly wound dark navy ito cord using a traditional cross-knot pattern. Small gold-tone cherry blossom menuki sit beneath the wrapping on each side, adding subtle warmth against the dark handle. The kashira cap carries an engraved floral motif that echoes the menuki theme, tying the handle details together.

A black alloy tsuba anchors the design with a snake-themed open framework, allowing glimpses of the blade through its curved cutouts. The gold-tone habaki collar beneath it provides a polished transition from guard to blade and adds a warm accent that pairs well with the menuki. Together these fittings frame the sword's personality - dark, layered, and deliberately composed.

The 30.7-inch hardwood saya is coated in a piano lacquer finish that produces a lustrous metallic blue surface. A dark navy sageo cord wraps through a matching kurikata bead, and the koiguchi mouth fits snugly around the blade for a secure draw. The saya's sheen complements the blade finish, making the complete package feel cohesive whether displayed or stored. For collectors exploring more options in this style, the Blue Manganese Steel Japanese Samurai Swords collection offers related pieces.

At 40.94 inches overall and 4.4 lbs, this katana balances presence on a wall mount with authentic heft in hand. Every component - from the raging fire hamon to the piano lacquer saya - follows a unified dark blue and gold color story that makes it a standout addition to any Blue Katana Sword collection.

Everything about it is perfect, except that it doesn’t fit in the sheath, it’ll slip out if the sheath is upside down. (Which isn’t supposed to happen) and the sheath scratches the hell out of the metal thing between the tsuba and blade. But those are such small details it’s still a 5 star. I’ve used the blade a few times and even hitting something like wood, it didn’t chip the blade which is crazy

Great for the price, only downside was that the package was a little beat up by the time it made it to my house but fortunately the sword had no damage on jt
