Product Details

The blade on this chokuto-style ninjato is forged from manganese steel and finished in an all-black coating that gives it a sleek, low-reflectance profile. What immediately draws the eye is the continuous geometric fretwork pattern hand-engraved along the flat of the blade - interlocking square-key motifs etched in white contrast run nearly the full length from the kissaki to the habaki, making this a visually distinctive piece among straight-blade replicas. The full-tang construction extends through the entire handle for solid structural integrity.

The tsuka is wrapped in black with evenly spaced ivory-tone accents visible beneath the binding, creating a clean alternating rhythm along the grip. The kashira at the pommel end features carved black detailing that echoes the ornate theme carried throughout the koshirae. Handle length and proportions are consistent with ninjato style - shorter and more upright than a traditional katana tsuka.

The black iron tsuba is one of the standout fittings on this sword. Cast with deeply carved ornate scroll relief work across its face, the design has the kind of three-dimensional texture that photographs well and holds up to close inspection. Its compact, squared profile sits flush against the blade's hazel and reinforces the ninjato's purposeful silhouette. If you're building a Iron Tsuba Ninjato collection, this tsuba design is worth noting.

The saya is where this piece makes its boldest statement. A gold crackle-pattern fabric inlay covers most of the scabbard body, while the koiguchi and kojiri are wrapped in embossed black leather featuring a raised dragon motif in high relief. The black sageo cord terminates in a tassel with small red bead accents, providing a focused pop of color against the predominantly black-and-gold palette. The overall effect is striking without being garish. This is one of the more eye-catching entries in the Gold Scabbard Ninjato category.

At 46 inches overall and 5 lb, this ninjato is built to a scale that suits wall mounting or display shelving. It ships in a 48 x 4 x 4-inch box at 6 lb. Note: no sword stand is included. The black-and-gold color scheme, geometric blade engraving, and dragon saya make this a strong centerpiece for collectors focused on bold, high-contrast Japanese sword aesthetics.

  • Manganese steel blade with a striking all-black finish and hand-engraved geometric fretwork pattern running along the flat - a rare visual detail that sets this ninjato apart from standard straight-blade replicas.
  • Full-tang construction keeps the blade solidly anchored through the handle, while the black tsuka wrap features evenly spaced ivory-tone menuki accents for a clean, high-contrast grip aesthetic.
  • Black iron tsuba showcases deeply carved ornate scroll relief work - the chunky, low-profile design is consistent with classic ninjato koshirae and adds genuine visual weight to the sword's profile.
  • Gold-and-black leather saya combines a cracked-gold fabric inlay with an embossed black dragon relief at the throat and koiguchi - the black sageo tassel with red bead accent completes the two-tone presentation.
  • Overall length 46 inches, shipping weight 6 lb - sized for wall display or collection shelving, packaged in a 48 x 4 x 4-inch box ready for gift-giving or safe storage.

Honestly, I was a bit skeptical as this was my first time ordering from True Katana. I could not be happier with the purchase.

The quality exceeded my expectations for the price. I constantly want to hold the sword because it just feels right.

It shipped incredibly quick and came ahead of the projections.

I will be buying another sword...the question is which one as there are so many beautiful designs to choose from.

I’m honestly very happy about my order the sword has incredible detail and the overall design is amazing for the price. You won’t regret buying this sword trust me this is a well designed and crafted sword in all aspects. Wish it was a bit sharper so I can cut through things a bit easier but I’m fairly certain theres some legal things that don’t allow the seller to do that, but regardless amazing product and amazing craftsmanship.
