Product Details

This full tang katana features a manganese steel blade forged and hand-finished to a refined edge. Manganese steel offers reliable toughness and strong wear resistance, making it a solid choice for a collectible sword. The blade runs 41 inches in overall length and shows a clean, polished surface with a subtle curvature true to traditional Japanese form.

The 11-inch tsuka is built on a hardwood core wrapped in black PU samegawa that mimics the bumpy texture of ray skin. Over this sits teal green cotton ito, tightly wound in a crisscross pattern that leaves small diamond-shaped windows exposing the samegawa beneath. Gold-tone menuki accent the grip, adding both visual detail and a tactile reference point.

At the junction of blade and handle, an alloy tsuba displays a detailed flowers-and-birds relief. The guard has a copper-tone rim with a contrasting brass habaki seated just above. This combination of warm metal tones plays well against the cooler teal green of the handle, giving the sword a layered, finished look.

The hardwood saya is wrapped in textured red PU leather embossed with an organic floral motif. A teal green sageo cord is tied at the kurikata, creating a bold red-and-teal color pairing that defines this piece. The saya mouth features a black buffalo horn koiguchi with gold-tone fittings. Very pretty sword and scabbard. Would have been five stars if the handle didn’t have exposed pegs/studs. But it’s not really too noticeable. Very fast shipping considering the distance and supply chain issues!
