Product Details

The blade is forged from spring steel and runs the full length of the tsuka in a solid full tang build. At 28.74 inches, the nagasa carries a chrome-polished surface with a clean, bright finish and a refined edge produced through hand finishing. The steel is heat-treated to 58 HRC, giving the blade strong resilience and reliable edge retention suited to a collectible-grade katana.

The tsuka measures 10.23 inches and is built over a hardwood core wrapped in white PU samegawa. Over that, black cotton ito is tightly wound in a traditional diamond pattern, creating a firm and textured grip. The menuki sit beneath the cord, and the overall handle construction feels solid and well-proportioned against the blade length.

A round alloy tsuba sits at the transition point, featuring openwork kanji character cutouts on a dark iron-tone surface. The habaki and seppa are finished in a warm gold tone, while the fuchi and kashira carry detailed silver-tone engravings. These fittings frame the handle and guard assembly with a layered contrast that adds visual depth. This style pairs well with other pieces in our Black Leather Handle Japanese Samurai Swords collection.

The saya is the visual centerpiece of this katana. Crafted from hardwood and coated in piano lacquer, it features a vivid purple and black speckled marble pattern that catches light at every angle. The sageo cord is braided in matching purple and black tones, tied neatly around the kurikata. At 30.7 inches, the scabbard fits the blade precisely and completes the bold color theme carried through the entire piece. Gave this to my son for his high school graduation and he was thrilled. It is beautiful! He has wanted a katana for many years. I thought the symbolism was perfect for him as he finished high school and is moving into adulthood. Truth, loyalty, honor, discipline, faith, and righteousness -all perfectly balanced like the katana are the qualities of the man I hope my son will be. Also, the katana is unbreakable which is especially meaningful to my son, following a particularly dark time in his life. Oh, and he was the envy of all his friends!

Didn't think it was legit, it was it came in less time than it was supposed to about a week. I opened it up and I sliced my finger open by accident so yes it does function correctly. Handle with caution if you choose to buy other than that I recommend buying if you want a sword.

Very happy with the item. The design is beautiful. Arrived in perfect condition. Really impressed with how well crafted this sword is!

I was worried about problems with the sword being imported into Japan, which is very strict regarding it's laws on swords, but there were surprisingly no problems at all!

Thank you very much. I'm very proud to be the owner of such a beautiful looking sword.

It arrived much sooner than I expected especially since it’s the holiday season. I haven’t opened it yet since it’s a gift for my best friend so I can’t say much of anything on the quality but even still I’m satisfied.
