Product Details

The blade is forged from folded melaleuca (pattern) steel, producing the layered grain texture visible along the flat and a visible hamon line tracing the edge. The full-tang construction runs the entire length of the handle, giving the 41-inch, 3-pound sword a solid, well-balanced feel that holds up to display handling and form practice alike. The chrome-finished blade surface contrasts cleanly against the all-black fittings.

The handle assembly follows traditional koshirae construction: black PU samegawa (ray-skin imitation) forms the base wrap, over which black cotton-style ito cord is wound in the standard diagonal pattern. Two black menuki sit beneath the ito wrap, and a compact silver pommel (kashira) caps the end. The overall grip length provides a two-handed hold consistent with ninjato proportions.

The tsuba is the visual centerpiece of the sword - a round silver alloy guard cast in a high-relief dragon motif, with clouds and scales rendered in fine detail. A gold-tone habaki collar seats the blade into the guard, providing the only warm-metal accent in an otherwise monochrome palette. This Dragon Theme Handle Ninjato design brings traditional iconography into a sharp, modern presentation.

The black lacquered hardwood saya is finished with engraved silver kanji characters running its full length - a detail that elevates the scabbard from functional to ornamental. Black sageo cord wraps the kurikata in traditional style, and the saya mouth (koiguchi) is fitted cleanly to accept and retain the blade securely.

At 41 inches overall with a shipping weight of 4 lbs, this ninjato is sized for wall display or shelf presentation. For collectors exploring the broader Ninja Sword category, this piece stands out through its kanji saya engraving and dragon tsuba combination - details that are difficult to find together at this construction level. Note: sword stand is not included.

  • Folded melaleuca (pattern) steel blade with a visible hamon line and precision-finished edge, running full tang through the handle for structural integrity across the entire 41-inch length.
  • Silver dragon-themed alloy tsuba pairs with a gold-tone habaki, creating a striking contrast against the all-black koshirae - a standout visual detail visible from the first glance.
  • Handle wrapped in black cord over PU black ray-skin (samegawa), providing a firm, textured grip with two black menuki accents integrated into the ito wrap.
  • Black lacquered hardwood saya features engraved silver kanji script running its full length - a distinctive design element rarely seen on standard ninjato scabbards.
  • Black sageo cord ties off the saya in traditional style, completing the monochrome koshirae with consistent material and color coordination throughout.
