Chrysanthemum Tsuba T10 Carbon Steel Katana, Real Hamon, Full Tang & Handmade

The blade on this katana is forged from T10 carbon steel and heat-treated to produce a genuine hamon - the wavy temper line visible along the edge that signals differential hardening between the edge and spine. A hand-finished dragon engraving runs along the blade flat, worked into the polished surface before final finishing. The result is a chrome-bright blade with strong visual character and a refined, hand-honed edge. Collectors drawn to T10 Carbon Steel Katana will find this piece a natural standout in any display.

The tsuka is built over a full tang construction, wrapped in genuine red samegawa rayskin beneath a tightly wound red ito cord in a traditional diagonal cross pattern. The texture of the rayskin comes through between the cord diamonds, providing both visual depth and grip. Gold-tone fittings at the kashira cap the handle cleanly.

The tsuba is a gold-tone chrysanthemum design with a scalloped, petal-form rim and open-work lattice relief on the face. The habaki collar and menuki fittings carry the same gold tone, creating a cohesive hardware palette across the koshirae. The tsuba motif references the classic Japanese chrysanthemum crest, a recurring symbol in samurai sword fittings.

The saya is wrapped in red leather with a fine pebbled texture throughout its full length. A matching red sageo cord ties through the kurigata, with a decorative knot at the midsection of the scabbard. A horn-tipped koiguchi secures the blade mouth. The all-red color scheme - saya, sageo, ito, and samegawa - creates a unified presentation rarely found at this level of construction detail.
