Product Details

The blade is forged from manganese steel and finished with a high-polish chrome surface that catches light cleanly along its gentle curve. A precision-finished edge runs from the base to the upswept kissaki tip, and the full tang extends through the entire handle core. No visible hamon is noted for this piece, keeping the aesthetic clean and modern while the steel provides the rigidity expected of a well-constructed collectible.

The tsuka is built over a hardwood core and wrapped in black ito cord over a red PU samegawa base layer. The diamond-pattern lacing sits tight and even, and the black-over-red contrast gives the grip a bold, layered look. Gold-tone menuki accents are seated beneath the ito wrap, visible in the gaps between the diamond crossings.

The iron tsuba is one of the most visually distinctive elements on this piece. Cast in a round profile, it carries a wave-theme design - swirling black cutout forms set against a deep red background. The two-tone execution in black and red ties directly into the overall color story of the sword and draws the eye immediately when the blade is presented.

The saya is wrapped in dark red PU leather embossed with a full-length dragon pattern. The raised texture creates depth and visual movement across the scabbard surface, and the black sageo cord is knotted at the kurigata with a traditional wrap. This Darkred Leather Saya Katana treatment gives the piece its defining character and makes it stand apart on any display.

At 41 inches overall and 3 lb, this katana sits in a well-balanced size range for display mounting or shelf presentation. Package dimensions are 43 x 4 x 4 inches. It is part of a broader lineup you can explore in the Red Katana Sword collection. Note: sword stand or holder is not included.

It’s a good sword. It handles well and came sharp. Cut through fig branches no problem. Some of the materials used in the handle seem kind of cheap. Overall it’s a solid sword.
