Product Details

The blade on this ninjato is forged from manganese steel and finished in a deep black, giving it a sleek, darkened appearance along the full 41-inch length. A wave-engraved detail runs along the cutting edge, creating a sculpted, flame-like profile that catches light at every angle. A natural hamon line traces the boundary between edge and spine, adding authentic visual depth to the blade's surface without relying on artificial treatment.

The handle follows traditional koshirae construction. Black cord ito is wrapped over a PU black samegawa base in a standard diamond pattern, producing a firm, textured grip. The pommel cap keeps the assembly clean and balanced at 3 lbs overall - well-proportioned for a full-tang ninjato of this scale.

The tsuba is the centerpiece of this build. Cast in bronze with a round silhouette, it features deeply carved dragon figures in open-work relief - the kind of detail you'd find on antique Japanese fittings. The warm antique bronze finish contrasts sharply against the black blade and handle, making the guard visually distinct from every angle. Collectors drawn to Dragon Ninja Sword designs will recognize this as a standout interpretation of the classic motif.

The saya is crafted from hardwood and finished with a natural lacquer coat over a gold-and-black floral pattern. The scattered blossom motif across a dark field gives the scabbard a distinctly refined aesthetic - far from plain lacquerwork. A black sageo cord is knotted through the kurikata fitting, completing the koshirae presentation. Those building out a Black Dragon Theme Handle Ninjato collection will find this saya finish a strong pairing with the bronze dragon tsuba.

At 41 inches overall and 3 lbs, this ninjato replica ships in a 43 x 4 x 4-inch package at 4 lbs. Full-tang construction runs the blade through the handle for structural integrity. Sword stand not included. Designed as a koshirae-style collectible replica.

Frequently Asked Questions

What steel is used and does it have a real hamon?
The blade is made from manganese steel with a black surface finish. A natural hamon line is visible along the edge, produced during the forging and finishing process - not painted or etched on.
What makes the blade edge design distinctive on this ninjato?
This ninjato features a wave-engraved edge profile - a sculpted detail cut into the blade spine near the edge, creating a flame-like silhouette. Combined with the black finish and visible hamon, it gives this replica a visually dramatic profile at 41 inches overall.
How does the dragon tsuba and saya finish pair together?
The tsuba is cast bronze with open-work dragon carving in an antique finish. The saya is hardwood lacquered in a gold-and-black scattered floral pattern. The warm gold tones of both elements create a deliberate contrast against the all-black blade, handle, and sageo cord.

Features: very heavy and not so sharp, no I didn't plan to cut the heads with it, only for cosplay, but if I would find something attractive as this with T10 steel, I'd rather prefer it.
