1060 Carbon Steel Katana with Burl Wood Saya - Black Tsuka, Chrysanthemum Tsuba

The blade is drawn from 1060 carbon steel and hand-finished to a bright chrome polish. The tsuka is wrapped in black ito cord over a white PU samegawa base, a pairing that keeps the handle look clean and high-contrast. The tsuba is cast in black alloy and shaped around a chrysanthemum theme - overlapping petal cutouts create an open lattice pattern with strong negative space. An ivory-toned habaki collar sits between the tsuba and the blade, giving a warm accent that ties the saya color back into the fittings.

The saya is the most visually striking element of this piece. Natural hardwood with a burl-grain surface gives each scabbard a one-of-a-kind map of dark swirls and warm amber tones, finished with natural lacquer to protect the wood and deepen the color.
