Damascus Steel Hamon Katana with Dragon Engraved Black-Orange Saya, Brown Dragon Tsuba, Full Tang

The blade is forged from damascus steel, revealing layered pattern steel grain across the flat and a clean hamon temper line tracing the edge. Manual grinding shapes the geometry to a precise profile, and the polished finish brings out the chrome-bright surface that catches light along the shinogi. The full-tang construction means the steel runs uninterrupted from tip through handle - no hidden joints, no compromised structure.

The tsuka is wrapped in black cotton ito over genuine white same (ray skin), the classic diamond-pattern windows of samegawa visible beneath each wrap crossing. Cotton ito provides a firm, non-slip grip with just enough give for comfortable handling. The handle terminates in copper kashira and opens at the blade end with a matching copper fuchi, both finished in a warm bronze tone that complements the brown tsuba.

The brown dragon tsuba is the visual centerpiece of the koshirae. Cast with high-relief dragon motifs and detailed surface engraving, the circular guard carries cloud and scale textures across its face. The warm brown patina reads as copper-cast iron in hand, with depth and weight that a stamped fitting cannot replicate. This dragon theme connects guard to scabbard in a deliberate design language throughout the Forged Katana build.

The hardwood lacquer saya is finished in deep gloss black with an orange dragon carving spanning the upper scabbard body. The engraved relief shows the dragon in full form - scales, claws, and flame detail rendered in amber and rust tones that contrast sharply against the black lacquer ground. Two black metal habaki bands frame the carving at top and bottom. The black sageo cord is secured at the kurigata in a traditional braided knot, and knot paper inside the saya cushions the blade on draw and sheath.
