Product Details

This full tang tanto features a T10 carbon steel blade heat-treated to 62 HRC, producing a visible hamon line that traces a natural wave pattern along the edge. The polished steel carries a bright finish that contrasts with the darker spine, giving the 22-inch tanto a classic two-tone appearance that highlights traditional forging techniques. Every blade in the T10 Carbon Steel Tanto Swords collection shares this same commitment to material quality.

The 10.62-inch tsuka is built on a full tang core wrapped in black PU samegawa for texture and grip stability. Black cotton ito cord is tightly wound over the samegawa in a traditional crosshatch pattern, creating a comfortable hold with consistent knot spacing. The all-black handle construction gives the tanto a streamlined, unified profile.

At the junction of blade and handle sits a round alloy tsuba with a samurai-themed openwork motif. The guard combines gold and black tones - a layered gold accent ring borders the tsuba near the habaki, adding visual depth without breaking the dark palette. The bottom-left detail shot reveals sculpted relief work on the kashira and pommel end, reinforcing the samurai aesthetic throughout the fittings.

The saya is crafted from hardwood with a matte black finish that matches the handle perfectly. At 29.92 inches, it houses the blade securely with a snug fit at the koiguchi. A black sageo cord is tied through a fitted kurikata in a clean decorative knot, and the overall look stays minimal and cohesive with the rest of this Black Tanto Knife design.

With an overall length of 22 inches and a weight of 2 lbs, this tanto balances compactness with presence. The black-on-black color scheme - from saya to tsuka to sageo - is broken only by the bright steel blade and gold tsuba accents, making it a focused, visually striking collectible piece for any Japanese sword display.

Very good, although I wish it would have come with a Japanese cloth scabbard for katana.r
Not a problem as I found one, Thanks so much!

The blade is VERY good and well finished. The fittings leave a lot to be desired. Overall a good value for the money and I would recommend this to someone looking for an inexpensive tanto.
