Packaging is terrible. It comes in a taped up Styrofoam container instead of a wooden or cardboard box. Its from China, but that's expected.r

The katana itself is decent and sharp.r
The outer finish on the saya is nice and looks exactly like the pictures.r

However, it was extremely hard to remove the katana from the saya, due to the habaki area getting stuck. I ended up having to lightly sand down the koiguchi area once I eventually got the katana out of the saya.r
r
Moreover, the blade rattles in the saya, which I'm not sure how I'm going to fix yet.

Well I can say that the sword is a work of art with out a doubt I can also say that it is made of cheaper parts besides the metal that I ordered. The craftsmanship is not to bad but not incredible. It is good for its price range. But I can't see myself using it to learn any new skills.
On a different note there was a bit of shipping damage SO PLEASE be
warned!

I bought the Japanese Katana Sword, Damascus steel with Dragon Tsuba for my husband. AND I am very pleased. Shipping was fast and the sword is everything they said it would be, came packed tight in a Styrofoam case, undamaged and completely assembled (have seen some web site where after receiving the sword it has to be assembled – not what I wanted) The sword was greased and very sharp. This website has instructions on how to clean and maintain the sword, very helpful.
For some reason I ordered twice and, in my panic, to correct this I sent a couple of emails. Customer service was very prompt and helpful, the extra order was canceled, and my money quickly refunded. If you are looking for a great Katana Sword, I recommend this company

279 plus a coupon was pretty good value for what I got. Their was a few problems to be expected from a cheaper Katana but the pros outweigh the cons in this scenario. And what I received was a beautiful Katana without a doubt.

I bought this for my father in law who is a martial artist and loves weaponry. He is also a gardener and so the design on this suited him perfectly. This man only cries when he gets things made by the grandkids… although his tears were held at bay they were there as he looked and immediately started doing his sword forms.
