How does the Shusui replica differ from the Wado Ichimonji?

 Updated Feb 2026

The two replicas diverge in nearly every visual and structural detail to stay faithful to their anime counterparts. The Shusui features a black-finished blade with a distinctive hamon line and a purple-wrapped tsuka secured with gold-tone menuki ornaments, paired with a glossy black saya accented by red cord sageo. The Wado Ichimonji, by contrast, carries a bright polished blade, a white tsuka wrap, and a high-gloss white lacquer saya that symbolizes purity and Zoro's childhood vow. The tsuba designs also differ: Shusui uses a flower-shaped cross-guard referencing the Wano aesthetic, while Wado Ichimonji employs a simple rounded tsuba in keeping with its understated elegance. Both share the same 1045 carbon steel core and full-tang construction.
