Product Details

This katana is built around a 28.3-inch blade forged from 1065 carbon steel, heat-treated to 58 HRC for a reliable balance of hardness and flexibility. The full tang construction runs the entire length of the handle, and the chrome-finished surface gives the blade a clean, reflective appearance from habaki to kissaki.

The 10.2-inch tsuka is wrapped in purple cord using a traditional diamond pattern over white real rayskin. The rayskin provides both texture and grip stability, while the purple ito creates a bold color accent that stands out against the rest of the fittings. A black synthetic knot secures the sageo at the mouth of the saya.

At the junction of blade and handle sits a black alloy tsuba with an openwork flower motif - small round cutouts arranged in a plum blossom pattern. A gold-toned habaki and fuchi add warm metallic highlights that complement the green tones of the scabbard.

The hardwood saya is finished in green piano lacquer with fine gold wire-drawing lines scattered across the entire surface, creating an organic, vine-like texture. At 30.3 inches, the saya fits the blade closely, and the black sageo cord provides a clean contrast against the vibrant green finish. This is one of the more distinctive pieces in the Green Samurai Sword collection.

Measuring 40.5 inches overall and weighing 2.65 lbs, this katana is a well-proportioned collectible that pairs traditional Japanese sword construction with a bold green-and-purple color scheme. For those exploring other options in the same steel grade, the 1065 Carbon Steel Sword collection offers additional styles and configurations.

This sword was everything I expected and more. It is very solidly built and has small cosmetic details the pictures don't do justice to. I think I will get one of the folded steel blades from this shop next time now that I know their quality is awesome.
