Product Details

The blade is forged from T10 carbon steel and clay tempered to achieve 60 HRC hardness along the edge while retaining a resilient spine. The process produces a genuine hamon - the undulating temper line visible along the 28.3-inch nagasa - that serves as direct evidence of differential heat treatment rather than a surface-applied effect. The chrome-polished finish highlights the hamon's natural contours and the blade's clean geometry from spine to point.

The tsuka is built over a hardwood core wrapped in white samegawa, the textured rayskin providing grip and structure beneath the black ito cord. The cord is wound in a traditional diamond pattern across the 10.2-inch handle, creating the white-on-black lozenge spacing visible along the grip. The contrast between white samegawa and black wrapping is one of the handle's most distinctive visual details.

The tsuba is cast from alloy in an antique gold tone, with fully pierced floral scrollwork covering the face. The openwork carving gives the guard visual depth while keeping the gold-on-black color relationship consistent with the sageo and saya decorations. A matching habaki collar seats the blade firmly at the handle junction. Explore more designs in our T10 Steel Katana collection.

The saya is shaped from hardwood and finished in piano lacquer, producing a deep gloss black surface. Three clusters of gold botanical motifs are painted along the saya body, echoing the tsuba's floral theme and providing the only color break against the lacquer. A black sageo cord is attached at the kurikata, coordinating with the tsuka wrap. The saya measures 30.3 inches and fits the blade with a secure, friction-fit draw. This piece sits naturally within our Handwood Saya Katana lineup.

Overall length is 40.5 inches, blade width 1.26 inches, and assembled weight 2.65 lbs. The proportions reflect full-size katana standards. The combination of a clay tempered T10 blade, gold pierced tsuba, and piano lacquer saya with matching gold saya motifs makes this a cohesive piece suited for wall display, presentation, or a serious replica collection.

  • Blade forged from T10 carbon steel, clay tempered to 60 HRC hardness, with a genuine hamon line running the full 28.3-inch nagasa - the visible temper line reflects traditional Japanese heat-treatment craftsmanship.
  • Full tang construction with white samegawa (rayskin) under black cord wrapping on the 10.2-inch tsuka - the diamond pattern ito wrap provides a secure grip and clean two-tone contrast.
  • Gold-tone alloy tsuba features deeply pierced floral scrollwork - a classic motif drawn from Japanese nature imagery, finished in antique gold against the black handle for a bold visual accent.
  • Black hardwood saya finished in high-gloss piano lacquer, decorated with gold botanical motifs along the body, secured with a black sageo cord - overall scabbard length 30.3 inches.
  • Overall length 40.5 in, blade 28.3 in, handle 10.2 in, blade width 1.26 in, weight 2.65 lbs - proportions suited for full-size display or formal presentation.

Very nice sword! I was looking for a sword to display in my home and this one is beautiful! The sword was received sooner than expected and was packed within 2 thick form-fitted styrofoam pieces and taped well. Will definitely buy again from True Katana and highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy an excellent sword at a great price!
