Product Details

This wakizashi features a folded Damascus steel blade measuring 20.5 inches, clay tempered to produce a real hamon line visible along the edge. The layered steel patterning is prominent near the kissaki, where the folded grain converges into a defined point. Hand-polished to a chrome finish, the blade achieves a hardness of 60 HRC and arrives sharpened with a refined edge.

The tsuka spans 8 inches and is crafted from rosewood with a rich brown tone and pronounced natural wood grain running the full length. Unlike traditional ito-wrapped handles, this wakizashi uses a bare wood construction that showcases the material's organic texture, secured to the full tang blade for structural integrity.

Gold-tone alloy fittings define the sword's transition points. The round tsuba features a stacked ring design with fine ridged detailing, paired with a brass-finish habaki that seats the blade firmly into the saya. These components bring a warm metallic contrast against the natural wood tones of the handle and scabbard.

The 24-inch hardwood saya is finished in a natural rosewood tone with piano lacquer surface treatment and bamboo-segmented styling that breaks the length into distinct visual sections. A black horn koiguchi at the mouth provides a clean seal. This piece fits naturally among other Brown Saya Wakizashi designs for collectors drawn to understated wood-forward aesthetics.

At 30 inches overall and 2.2 lbs, this wakizashi balances collectible authenticity with display presence. The combination of Damascus steel craftsmanship, rosewood furniture, and gold alloy fittings positions it as a refined addition to any Japanese sword collection. Those exploring folded steel options may also appreciate the broader Damascus Short Sword selection for similar builds in different configurations.

  • Folded Damascus steel blade at 20.5 inches with visible layered patterning and a real hamon line, hand-polished to a chrome finish with 60 HRC hardness rating.
  • Full tang construction with a brown rosewood handle measuring 8 inches, featuring natural wood grain texture for a secure and traditional grip profile.
  • Gold-tone alloy tsuba in a round design with layered ring detailing and textured brass-finish habaki, adding classical elegance to the fittings.

Shipping was fast, and tracking was very accurate. The Wakizashi is a wonderful looking piece. I will most certainly be ordering another sword from True Katana in there near future!

The contact email was responsive and helpful. I asked for a short katana, being short. I asked for a not sharp katana, being a beginner, and they complied, although you could still hurt someone with it for sure. The sword is beautiful, wood handle and sheath (sorry have not learned the lingo yet).

I wanted an “ understated” Wakizashi style sword to match a Tonto with Damascus blade.
This sword exceeds my expectations. I will bring the edge to the sharpness level required.
So far, I am very happy with this sword.

I purchased this as a gift for my adult daughter. The quality out of the box was extraordinary. Finishes on the blade, handguard, and scabbard are very high quality. The blade itself is quite beautiful and seems expertly crafted. Overall I would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality wakizashi.
