Product Details

The blade of this katana is forged from spring steel, spanning 28.74 inches with a hardness of 58 HRC. What sets it apart visually is the hand-hammered texture running along the spine and upper flat of the blade - irregular, organic dents that contrast with the polished chrome-toned cutting edge below. This forged surface treatment gives each piece a one-of-a-kind character while showcasing the steel's natural grain. Among Brown Speed Steel Japanese Samurai Swords, this hammered finish stands out as a bold stylistic choice.

The tsuka measures 10.23 inches and is carved from a single piece of hardwood displaying a rich rosewood-grain pattern. Rather than a traditional ito wrap, the handle features a diamond-carved surface directly in the wood, accented by a golden zigzag thread detail near the base. Two black horn-style fittings cap each end, framing the warm, reddish-brown wood tone and providing a secure grip.

In place of an ornate tsuba, this katana uses a minimal round iron disc guard in a dark finish. The understated design creates a clean line between the hammered steel blade and the natural wood handle, giving the sword a utilitarian, almost ancient aesthetic that avoids unnecessary decoration.

The saya is constructed from hardwood and wrapped entirely in brown PU leather, producing a smooth matte surface with a warm sienna tone. A brass floral ring fitting sits on the upper body of the scabbard, serving as both a decorative element and a nod to classical sword furniture. The koiguchi is fitted tightly with a black horn collar for a secure draw.

At 41 inches overall and 4.4 lbs in weight, this full tang katana carries real heft and presence. The combination of hammered spring steel, carved rosewood-grain handle, and leather-clad saya with brass accents creates a piece that bridges rustic forge aesthetics with refined craftsmanship - a strong addition to any brown-themed samurai sword collection.
