Product Details

The blade is forged from high manganese steel and hand-finished with a hammered texture running along the flat above the shinogi, creating a rugged surface contrast against the polished edge. A visible hamon line traces the length of the nagasa, giving the chrome-bright blade the look of a traditionally worked sword. Paired with a gold-tone brass habaki, the blade seats firmly into the koshirae fittings.

The tsuka is wrapped in carved orange wood with a swirling relief pattern and capped with a black kashira at the pommel end. The grip is full tang, with the steel core running through the entire handle for structural integrity. The warm orange tone of the tsuka creates a bold contrast against the black metal fittings throughout.

The black round tsuba features a deeply textured surface with a pebbled stone-relief pattern. A gold-tone brass fuchi sits at the base of the handle, transitioning cleanly from grip to guard. The restrained, monochrome tsuba design keeps visual focus on the surrounding hardware without competing with the blade or handle color.

The hardwood lacquer saya is finished in a two-tone orange-and-black scheme - bright amber orange across the main body with black lacquer at the koiguchi and tip. A matching orange kurikata button anchors the black braided sageo cord, which is knotted in a traditional style. For collectors exploring Natural Wood Saya Japanese Samurai Swords, this orange-black lacquer finish offers a vivid, high-contrast alternative.

Overall length is 41 inches and shipping weight is 5 lbs with packaging dimensions of 43 x 4 x 4 inches. This piece is built in koshirae style, making it a strong addition to any Olive Manganese Steel Katana or manganese steel collection. Note: sword stand or holder is not included.

I bought two katanas and they showed up really quick, almost sharpened, beautiful craftsmanship. They sharpen well, cut well, and carry well. I will be back to pair them with a nice couple of wakizashis

Item description on the website states “battle ready,” “manganese steel,” and we paid $189 for this katana.
We received the katana and the shipping labels themselves states that this was a “decorative iron sword,” worth “$89.”

We were disappointed even though we knew for less than $200, we’d be most likely getting a decorative katana, I just though the company would be more honest in their item description.

Next time, I’ll find a legit shop for purchasing a higher-end katana.

Hubs is satisfied with it however, and it is a solid decoration.
