Product Details

This full tang katana features a 28.5-inch blade forged from T10 carbon steel and clay tempered to produce an authentic hamon line visible along the rose gold surface. The clay tempering process creates a differential hardness of 58 HRC at the edge, while the warm golden-bronze tone of the steel gives the blade a distinctive visual character that shifts under light. The hand-finished edge runs cleanly to a well-defined kissaki tip.

The 10.25-inch tsuka is built on a hardwood core wrapped in black PU samegawa for texture and grip stability. Over this sits a tightly wound black cord ito in a traditional diamond pattern, providing both visual uniformity and a tactile hold. White same panels peek through beneath the wrap, adding subtle contrast against the all-black handle construction.

At the intersection of blade and handle sits a silver alloy round tsuba with an intricate openwork dragon motif. The detail work on the tsuba is complemented by a brass habaki collar engraved with a plum blossom family crest, introducing a warm gold accent that visually bridges the blade tone and the silver guard. This combination of metals creates a refined layered effect at the sword's center.

The black hardwood saya is coated in a high-gloss piano lacquer finish that gives it a deep mirror-like surface. A gold tiger engraving adorns the upper portion of the scabbard, adding a bold thematic element that contrasts sharply against the glossy black. The black sageo cord is tied in a traditional knot around the kurikata, completing the classic presentation. For collectors interested in similar pieces, explore the full Gold T10 katana collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What steel and hardness does this gold katana have?
This katana uses T10 carbon steel, clay tempered to create a real hamon line along the rose gold blade surface. The edge hardness reaches 58 HRC through the differential hardening process, with a softer spine for structural resilience.
Is this katana full tang with a real hamon?
Yes, the blade is full tang T10 carbon steel extending through the entire 10.25-inch handle. The clay tempering process produces a genuine hamon line visible along the blade, not etched or painted, resulting from differential heat treatment.
What are the tsuba and saya designs on this katana?
The round silver alloy tsuba features an openwork dragon motif with a brass habaki engraved with a plum blossom crest. The black hardwood saya has a piano lacquer finish with a gold tiger engraving and black sageo cord tied at the kurikata.

Loves the katana currently have it displayed above my desk and love how it looks. Came in with a oily substance in the blade but nothing a microfibre rag can’t get off. Would recommend and will be buying from this company in the future.

Fast shipping, good build for the price. The materials used outside of the blade itself are light (inexpensive) so the sword feels light. But I didn’t purchase a $8000-$12000 katana, so I’m happy with this sword for its price. Would buy again from TrueKatana.

I purchased this item for my son because he is a collector. I cannot give an honest review because I do not know much about the product. I can say that what I saw was nice.

This katana is awesome. Im not the most educated on the topic, but I could only find one flaw, and it is difficult to notice. The part in front of where the guard attaches to the blade is slightly crooked. But honestly, totally worth the price.
