Product Details

This full tang katana features a 28.74-inch manganese steel blade with a chrome-polished surface and a hardness rating of 58 HRC. The steel holds a refined edge while offering the toughness and resilience that manganese steel is known for. At 41 inches overall and 4.4 pounds, it carries a deliberate heft that feels balanced in hand.

The 10.23-inch handle is built on a hardwood core wrapped in PU white samegawa, then bound tightly with black cotton ito in a traditional diamond pattern. The contrast between the white same and dark cord creates a clean, graphic look that carries through the entire piece.

At the guard position sits a real copper tsuba with a sculpted dragon relief. The dragon figure is rendered in silver-tone detail, while the habaki collar transitions into gold, adding warmth and visual depth where the blade meets the hilt. The craftsmanship on this tsuba is among the most detailed elements of the build.

The 30.7-inch hardwood saya is finished in piano lacquer and covered with an intricately engraved dragon motif. The black-and-white illustration wraps around the full length of the scabbard, depicting flowing dragon forms, clouds, and scales with fine line work. A black sageo cord is tied near the mouth of the saya, completing the monochrome palette. If you are drawn to this color scheme, explore more options in our White Manganese Steel Katana collection.
