Product Details

This black katana is built around a T10 folded clay tempered carbon steel blade that produces a real hamon - the visible temper line running along the edge where differential hardening meets the softer spine. The dark-finished blade contrasts with the bright edge geometry, creating a dramatic two-tone effect that catches light at every angle. As part of the T10 Steel Katana Sword collection, this piece represents the strength and resilience that T10 carbon steel is known for.

The tsuka measures 11 inches and is built on a hardwood core, wrapped in black PU samegawa beneath a tight black cotton ito cord. Gold menuki peek through the wrap on both sides, adding contrast against the otherwise all-black handle construction. The full tang design means the blade steel extends through the entire handle, pinned securely for structural integrity.

At the junction of blade and handle sits an iron tsuba with an open four-petal geometric pattern. A gold ring borders the inner edge, and a floral crest is inlaid on the face - details visible in the close-up that give this guard a refined, understated character distinct from cast alloy alternatives.

The saya is crafted from hardwood and finished in premium natural black lacquer, producing a smooth, deep gloss. A black sageo cord is tied at the kurikata in a traditional knot, and small gold-toned fittings on the saya body complement the menuki and tsuba accents. The overall palette is monochromatic black with restrained gold highlights throughout.

With an overall length of 40.5 inches, a blade width of 1.26 inches, and a weight of 3.17 lbs, this full tang katana is proportioned for display presence. Every fitting - from the iron tsuba to the lacquered saya - is assembled by hand, making it a cohesive collectible piece grounded in traditional Japanese sword aesthetics.

  • Forged from T10 folded clay tempered carbon steel, this full tang katana features a visible real hamon line along the black-finished blade, hardened to hold a refined edge.
  • The 11-inch tsuka is wrapped in black cord over black PU samegawa, secured with gold menuki accents for a traditional look and firm two-handed grip.
  • Iron tsuba with an open geometric design and gold-accented floral motif on the omote side provides both hand protection and a striking visual centerpiece.
  • Black hardwood saya finished in premium natural lacquer houses the blade securely, paired with a black sageo cord tied in a decorative knot at the kurikata.
  • Overall length of 40.5 inches with a blade width of 1.26 inches and total weight of 3.17 lbs - sized and balanced as a collectible display katana.

Yes, the blade steel runs the full length of the 11-inch tsuka and is pinned through the hardwood handle core. The grip is wrapped in black PU samegawa and black cotton ito cord with gold menuki fitted on both sides.
What material is the tsuba and what design does it feature?
The tsuba is made from iron with an open four-petal geometric cutout pattern. It includes a gold-bordered inner ring and a floral crest inlaid on the face, complementing the black and gold color scheme found across the fittings.

Nice solid blade. Arrived quite sharp and with a bit of oil applied which is nice. Only flaw is the blade fits quite tightly into the shirasaya (scabbard) right at the tsuba but nothing a bit of light sanding won't fix (which i plan to do). Nice beginner iadio training blade, it also looks beautiful in person.
