Product Details

The blade on this katana is forged from T10 carbon steel and finished with a hand-ground edge that reveals a flowing hamon line along the length of the nagasa. Running alongside the hamon is hand-engraved text that gives the blade a personalized, artisan quality seldom found at this price point. At 28.3 inches (72 cm) of nagasa within a 40.5-inch (103 cm) overall length, the proportions follow traditional Japanese katana geometry closely.

The tsuka is built on a full-tang foundation, meaning the steel extends uninterrupted from tip through the handle core. The grip is wrapped in blue-and-black cord over a PU blue samegawa base in a classic diamond (hishi-gumi) pattern. Gold-tone menuki accents are woven into the binding, adding visual depth to the black-dominant handle. For collectors interested in similar handle aesthetics, explore our Purple T10 Carbon Steel Katana collection.

The tsuba is one of the most visually striking elements of this piece. Cast with an ornate scroll design that incorporates tomoe swirl motifs and open lattice sections, it is finished in aged gold brass tones. The floral cloud silhouette of the guard frame complements the koshirae style of the overall fittings, with the gold color tying directly into the menuki on the tsuka.

The saya is crafted from natural hardwood and finished in a premium lacquer coat. The base color is deep black, overlaid with a vivid blue floral splatter pattern - a distinctive artistic treatment visible clearly in the product image. The transition from the blue-painted lower saya to the plain black upper section is clean and intentional. A black sageo cord is knotted at the kurigata for traditional carry presentation.

This katana weighs 3.17 lb and ships in packaging measuring 43.3 x 3.93 x 3.14 inches. The complete koshirae set - engraved T10 blade, ornate gold tsuba, blue-black cord tsuka, and lacquered floral saya - makes this piece a strong centerpiece for any Japanese sword collection or display.

The katana is absolutely gorgeous. looks even better than the pictures. however it didn’t come sharp at all. i can slide it down my hand without even scratching me. other than that i couldn’t ask for anything better
