Dragon Tsuba T10 Carbon Steel Katana, Real Hamon, Full Tang & Black Dragon Saya

The blade on this katana is ground from T10 carbon steel and hand-finished to reveal a genuine hamon - the wavy temper line that runs the length of the chrome-polished nagasa. Unlike decorative pieces with etched or acid-faked hamon lines, the pattern here is a product of the differential hardening process itself, giving the blade a visual depth that shifts with the light. The full-tang construction ensures the steel runs the complete length of the handle for structural integrity throughout the koshirae.;

The tsuka is built over the full tang with a wrap of real white samegawa (ray-skin) underneath black cotton ito, bound in the traditional diamond pattern. The wrap is tight and even, providing a secure grip surface without rough edges. Copper fittings at the habaki and fuchi tie the handle assembly together cleanly.

At the guard, a gold-brown dragon tsuba commands attention. The cast piece features an embossed dragon-and-cloud scene in relief, with the warm gold-brown finish picking up well against the black tsuka wrap. The design is bold without being oversized - proportioned to sit naturally between blade and handle.

The saya is the visual centerpiece of the set. Constructed from hardwood and finished in deep black piano lacquer, it carries a hand-painted orange dragon motif accented with blue detail work across the lower half. The glossy black surface amplifies the color contrast of the artwork. A black sageo is knotted at the kurigata in a multi-loop knot, held with a small amber-toned bead at the tie point.
