Product Details

The blade on this katana is forged from T10 carbon steel, hand-finished to a bright chrome polish with a real hamon running along the edge. At 40.5 inches overall and 2.88 lbs, the sword carries a balanced heft that serious collectors and Japanese sword enthusiasts will recognize immediately. The full tang extends through the entire handle, giving the piece structural integrity from tip to pommel. For more options in this steel category, browse our T10 Carbon Steel Sword collection.

The tsuka is wrapped in black cord over white PU samegawa, with evenly spaced diamond-pattern openings revealing the ray-skin beneath. Menuki accents are set into the wrap at regular intervals, and the black sageo ties off cleanly at the collar. The fit between handle and guard is firm, with no play.

The gold-tone dragon tsuba is the visual centerpiece of the fittings set. The circular guard is carved in high relief with a coiled dragon design, matched by copper habaki and fuchi that bridge the transition from blade to handle. The warm gold against the black wrap creates a striking contrast.

The orange hardwood saya is finished in premium natural lacquer and features hand-engraved dragon motifs alongside kanji characters running the length of the scabbard. The koiguchi collar is wrapped in teal and turquoise cord with black over-lashing and a tassel - a color combination that makes the scabbard a display piece in its own right. If you are drawn to this style of koshirae presentation, the Authentic Katana collection offers additional traditionally appointed pieces.

Overall length is 40.5 inches, blade width 1.26 inches, shipping weight 4 lbs. Each sword is individually handcrafted, so minor variation in hamon pattern and lacquer finish is inherent to the process. Sword stand not included.

Loved the sword this is my first katana and I am impressed. I will be ordering from here again. The only thing is the shipping updates could be better but other than that I had a good experience.
