Product Details

This katana features a full tang blade forged from 1065 carbon steel, heat-treated to 58 HRC hardness. The 28.74-inch blade carries a striking blue tone that catches light along its entire length, with a hand-finished edge tapering to a clean kissaki point. At 1.258 inches wide and 0.275 inches thick, the geometry balances visual presence with structural integrity.

The 10.23-inch tsuka is wrapped in grey cotton cord over PU white samegawa, creating a cool-toned pairing that complements the blade and saya. The wrap pattern is tight and even, providing a textured surface that feels secure in hand. A grey sageo cord ties the ensemble together, matching the handle wrap for a cohesive look.

At the junction of blade and handle sits an alloy tsuba with a sculpted dragon relief rendered in antique silver tones. The design captures coiled scales and flowing whiskers in raised detail. A gold-finished habaki seats the blade firmly, adding a warm metallic accent between the cool-toned guard and the blue steel.

The 30.7-inch hardwood saya is finished in deep blue piano lacquer that mirrors the blade's color. Its surface is adorned with a hand-painted dragon motif weaving across the body - silver and gold scales intertwine around a vivid red sun crest, bringing bold color contrast to the glossy blue ground. This is one of the most visually detailed saya designs in the Blue Samurai Sword collection.

With an overall length of 40.55 inches and a weight of 2.8 lbs, this katana presents well-balanced proportions. Every component - from the blue-toned 1065 steel blade to the dragon-relief tsuba and lacquered saya - follows a unified dragon-and-blue theme, making it a cohesive collector's piece built around traditional Japanese sword architecture.

The sword looks exactly as advertised on the shop, and the blade even came oiled. I can tell that the saya really was handcrafted to fit the blade because when I sheathe the sword, there’s literally no room for error once I get to the hilt. Very good product and I’m more than happy with my purchase, I plan on buying more swords from you guys for sure!
