The tsuka is built over a real white samegawa (ray skin) base, wrapped tightly in dark navy blue cord using the traditional tsuka-maki diamond pattern. The white samegawa diamonds show cleanly through each wrap opening, creating a crisp contrast against the deep navy ito. Two mekugi pegs lock the blade into the handle, keeping the assembly firmly seated during handling.

The gold-tone dragon tsuba is the visual centerpiece of this koshirae. Cast with full relief dragon motifs across both faces, the round guard transitions through a rectangular habaki collar at the blade base. The warm gold finish plays directly against the navy handle and polished steel, giving the fittings a formal, layered look.
