Well I can say that the sword is a work of art with out a doubt I can also say that it is made of cheaper parts besides the metal that I ordered. The craftsmanship is not to bad but not incredible. It is good for its price range. But I can't see myself using it to learn any new skills.

warned!

The first order a full-size katana was exceptional, I mean it was/is perfect. The craftsmen and artists who made it must be commended, beautiful work. The tanto sword not so much. The tsuka mountings, fuchi and kashira, extend above the tsuka-ito and make it uncomfortable to hold. The habaki fit to the saya was loose and the blade rattled in the saya but I was able to fix both. The sageo wrap on the saya was loose but I can tighten it myself. It appears the attention to fit was a bit off as was the quality control for that sword. But I understand we all have off days. At first glance the tanto looks good and when displayed with the katana as intended it will do.
On the upside dealing with TrueKatana was a pleasure! Thank you.

Overall good replica Katana. These are nice for the cost. They are not battle ready and not very sharp. However, if you wanted a show piece these will do nicely. Keep in mind an authentic Japanese Katana will cost thousands. Some new katanas are 30k . One more thing, these are made in China not Japan. If you want a replica you will be pleased.

This is the second sword I have bought from True Katana. I love the quality and the variety of swords offered here. This sword has a laser etched pattern on the blade. It has black ink in the etched pattern, however, on one side the ink only partially covers the pattern and fades to nothing. Really though, I still love this sword and I would buy it again.
