Product Details

This katana features a 28.3-inch blade forged from 1065 carbon steel and clay tempered to produce a distinctive hamon line that runs along the edge. The tempering process brings the blade to 58 HRC hardness, and the finished edge is hand-sharpened to a fine point. The steel carries a chrome-like polish that highlights the wavy hamon pattern against the flat of the blade, giving the nagasa a clean, traditional appearance.

The 10.2-inch tsuka is built on a hardwood core wrapped in PU white samegawa, then bound tightly with brown ito cord in a classic crisscross pattern. The white rayskin panels show clearly through the diamond gaps in the wrap, creating a sharp visual contrast against the warm brown cord. The full tang construction runs the entire length of the handle for structural integrity.

Sitting between blade and handle is a round alloy tsuba decorated with an elaborate flower theme. The close-up reveals layered silver and gold-toned metalwork depicting peony-like blossoms and foliage, with fine detailing that catches light from multiple angles. This ornamental guard adds both visual depth and a cultural reference to classic Japanese floral motifs.

The saya is crafted from natural hardwood left in its unfinished state, showcasing the pale, smooth wood grain without lacquer or paint. A brown sageo cord is wrapped around the saya mouth and tied in a traditional knot, matching the ito on the handle for a cohesive color palette. The saya measures 30.3 inches and fits the blade securely with a snug habaki seat.

At 40.5 inches overall and 2.65 lbs, this 1065 Carbon Steel Katana sits comfortably in the full-size range for a katana replica. The natural-toned saya, brown fittings, and silver-gold tsuba create a warm, understated aesthetic suited for display or as part of an Original Japanese Katana collection. Every component - from the clay-tempered blade to the hand-tied sageo - reflects traditional Japanese sword construction methods.

  • Forged from 1065 carbon steel with clay tempering that produces a visible hamon line along the 28.3-inch full tang blade, hardened to 58 HRC for reliable edge retention.
  • Hardwood tsuka wrapped in brown ito cord over PU white samegawa, providing a secure and traditional diamond-pattern grip across 10.2 inches of handle length.
  • Round alloy tsuba with an intricate flower motif in silver and gold tones, adding a refined accent between the blade and the brown-wrapped handle.
  • Natural hardwood saya with an unfinished wood grain surface, paired with a brown sageo cord tied in a traditional knot for secure carry and elegant display.
  • Overall length of 40.5 inches at 2.65 lbs - a full-size katana replica built with traditional Japanese sword-making proportions and hand-finished details.

It’s a nice looking sword. Nice weight, too. I kind of wish the data wasn’t coated with high gloss. But, it’s a nice sword for the price, all the same.

I purchased this sword as a gift. The online ordering experience was straightforward and easy. The sword shipped quickly and it was very well packaged, encased in a styrofoam block. It arrived without damage and in great condition. I was very pleased with the quality and it was above what I had expected. The blade was straight, sharp, and well oiled. The engraving on the guard had surprising detail that I did not appreciate in the online photos. The handle was well wrapped with cord. The scabbard was polished and high quality. I would recommend this for anyone interested in a katana.

I absolutely adore this one. No frills, just a simple design and no bohi so that the nagasa itself has the weight necessary for a solid stroke. Looking forward to test cutting!

Looks great feels great however the scabbard doesn't fit katana and must be forced in. In turn makes it hard to draw

When ordering this katana for my son I wasn’t sure what to expect. Some I’ve seen through other sites they looked cheap and the blade looked dull. But this blew away any doubts I had. The sword was beautiful and so very sharp. I highly recommend this from true katana.
