Product Details

The crimson red blade on this katana is forged from 1045 carbon steel, heat-treated to 58 HRC. The full tang construction runs the entire length of the handle, and the steel carries a deep, saturated dark red finish that catches light with a warm metallic glow. At 28.3 inches, the nagasa offers traditional katana proportions with a 1.18-inch width that tapers cleanly to the kissaki. This piece fits well among other Darkred 1045 Carbon Steel Katana builds for collectors drawn to colored steel finishes.

The tsuka measures 10.2 inches and is built on a hardwood core layered with black PU samegawa, giving the grip a textured foundation. Brown tsuka-ito cord is wrapped in a traditional diamond pattern over the samegawa, with gold-toned menuki peeking through the gaps. The combination of dark brown cord against black ray skin creates a subdued, earthy tone that pairs naturally with the crimson blade.

At the junction of blade and handle sits a black alloy tsuba with a round profile and detailed relief carving - floral and wave motifs are visible across its surface. A polished brass-toned habaki collar provides a clean transition between the tsuba and the blade, adding a warm metallic accent that echoes the gold menuki on the handle.

The saya is crafted from hardwood and finished with premium natural lacquer in a deep dark red with black wood-grain streaks running along its length. The glossy surface reveals subtle tonal variation under different lighting. A brown sageo cord is tied at the kurikata in a traditional knot, completing the scabbard's clean visual line. For those interested in similar color-themed swords, the Multi-colored Japanese Samurai Swords collection offers additional options.

With an overall length of 40.5 inches and a weight of 2.55 lbs, this crimson katana is proportioned for shelf or wall display. Every component - from the red-finished steel to the lacquered saya and carved alloy tsuba - follows a deliberate dark red and brown color scheme, making it a visually unified collectible piece built around a single bold palette.
