Product Details

The 28.3-inch blade is forged from T10 carbon steel and subjected to a clay tempering process that produces a genuine hamon line along the edge - organic in shape, not mechanically brushed or printed. Heat-treated to 60 HRC, the blade emerges with a polished chrome finish and a hand-finished edge that reflects both the steel's character and the smith's precision. The 10.2-inch tsuka is wrapped in red samegawa rayskin beneath a tightly wound dual-cord ito in black and red. The two colors alternate in a classic diamond hishi-gami pattern, creating strong visual contrast and a firm, textured grip. Black menuki sit beneath the wrap at the grip points.

The tsuba is cast from alloy in a bronze-gold finish, featuring a lion totem design with flanking figures and an openwork rectangular fuchi panel. The motif carries a bold, sculptural quality that distinguishes this koshirae from standard geometric fittings.

The saya is shaped from natural hardwood and finished in a deep dark red piano lacquer - the crackle-textured surface visible in the image creates depth and visual richness. A braided black-and-red sageo is knotted in an elaborate display wrap around the kurigata, adding an extra decorative layer consistent with the overall color palette. Overall length is 40.5 inches with a blade width of 1.26 inches and a spine thickness of 0.28 inches. The assembled sword weighs 2.65 lbs. Packaged in a fitted box measuring 43.4 x 3.9 x 3.14 inches, shipping weight 3.4 lbs.

Another win-win for True Katana. This is the second sword I purchased, this one is for my son, its everything they said it would be. And so much more wehn you see the real sword. Came shipped in a well wrapped Styrofoam package and was delivered in 10 days. The blade was well oiled, sharp and beautiful. Makes me want to keep it for myself. I know my son is going to love this gift. Highly recommend True Katana Swards
