Product Details

This full tang katana features a 28.34-inch nagasa forged from T10 carbon steel through a folded, clay tempered process. The differential hardening produces a real hamon - a visible temper line running the length of the blade - while achieving 60 HRC at the edge. The folding process refines the steel grain, and the chrome-toned finish highlights the hamon pattern against the polished surface.

The 10.62-inch tsuka is built on a hardwood core wrapped in PU black samegawa, then bound tightly with black cotton cord in a traditional crosshatch pattern. The layered construction provides both visual texture and a firm, comfortable hold. A brass-toned habaki seats the blade securely into the tsuka assembly.

At the junction of blade and handle sits an alloy tsuba finished in black, featuring an openwork bamboo motif. The design is clean and sculptural, with cut-through bamboo stalks and leaves creating depth against the chrome blade behind it. A matching brass collar on the tsuba adds a subtle warm accent that pairs with the habaki. Browse more styles in our Clay Tempered Katana Sword collection.

The 29.52-inch hardwood saya is coated in a high-gloss black piano lacquer that gives it a deep, mirror-like surface. A black sageo cord is tied at the kurikata in a traditional knot, maintaining the monochrome theme throughout the entire piece. The tight fit between saya and habaki keeps the blade seated with a satisfying click.

At 40.15 inches overall and 3.21 lbs, this T10 Katana carries the proportions and weight of a traditional Japanese long sword. Every component - from the folded steel blade to the lacquered saya - is finished in a cohesive black-and-chrome palette, making it a striking collectible for display or a meaningful addition to any Japanese sword collection.

Everything about the sword was incredible. One teeny tiny issue: the handle wrap came off quickly. But don't hold this against the sword or the maker, it has been used to a ridiculous end, so wear is going to happen. Will be ordering more swords from TrueKatana.
