Product Details

The 25.98-inch manganese steel nagasa is hand forged and heat-treated to 62 HRC, producing a refined edge and a clearly defined hamon line running the length of the blade. The hammered finish along the spine adds raw texture that contrasts sharply with the polished chrome edge - a detail visible in both display and close examination. This is a full tang, precision-finished blade built for the serious collector browsing our Wakizashi Sword selection.

The tsuka measures 10.23 inches and is wrapped in brown polyurethane leather over a black-gold base, providing a secure grip and a layered visual depth. The black-gold color scheme ties the handle directly to the overall koshirae presentation without any mismatched tones.

The real copper tsuba is finished in black-gold and shaped to a geometric pattern - round in form with clean cutwork that frames the blade transition. Copper as a fitting material carries weight and density noticeably different from alloy substitutes, and the toning here reads as warm gold against the darker surrounding fittings.

The hardwood lacquer saya runs 27.95 inches in matte black-gold, engraved across its surface with kanji script that gives the scabbard the feel of an artifact rather than a simple enclosure. A copper ring fitting with a rose-toned accent sits mid-saya, and the black sageo cord completes the traditional koshirae cord attachment point.

At 38.18 inches overall and 5.51 lbs, this wakizashi is a substantial, fully assembled koshirae piece. The kanji-themed saya, hammered blade finish, and real copper fittings combine into a cohesive retro aesthetic designed for collectors who value visual and material authenticity in a single display set.

This sword was 1 of 3 items that I ordered. This item by itself is wonderful, however, the scabbard is VERY tight on the blade. I worry about the edge being dulled from sheathing and unsheathing the sword. Otherwise, the craftsmanship is great.
