Product Details

This manganese steel katana delivers a 28.74-inch chrome-finish blade hardened to 58 HRC, offering strong edge retention throughout its full tang structure. The polished surface catches light cleanly along the spine and edge, with a refined finish that highlights the quality of the steel. At 4.4 lbs total, the sword has real presence and weight in hand - a piece built to traditional proportions from a Handmade Katana Sword tradition.

The tsuka measures 10.23 inches and is wrapped tightly in black cord over genuine white rayskin, creating the classic diamond pattern seen on traditional Japanese swords. The layered texture of the rayskin beneath the cord wrap ensures a firm, non-slip grip that also adds visual depth to the handle assembly.

At the junction of blade and handle sits a black alloy tsuba engraved with a detailed snake motif. The close-up reveals fine line work depicting the serpent among foliage, with subtle gold accenting along the rim. This guard provides both a visual anchor point and a functional barrier between grip and edge.

The 30.7-inch saya is crafted from rosewood with a rich brown tone that showcases the natural wood grain. A black sageo cord is neatly tied at the kurikata, which features a warm copper-tone finish that complements the dark wood. The koiguchi fits snugly against the habaki for a clean draw and secure rest. This is a standout piece among Brown Manganese Steel Japanese Samurai Swords.

With an overall length of 40.94 inches and a weight of 4.4 lbs, this katana follows the classic dimensions of a standard-length samurai sword. Every component - from the steel blade to the rosewood saya - is assembled by hand, resulting in a collectible display piece with authentic proportions and solid construction. Sword stand or holder is not included.

The katana itself is beautiful overall. Amazing detail and care went into this piece and it’s amazing! However shipping was longer than expected.
