Manganese Steel Katana with Black Leather Saya - Round Iron Tsuba, Black Tsuka

The blade on this katana is forged from manganese steel and ground to a hand-finished chrome edge with a clean hamon line running along its length. The polished flat of the blade catches light evenly, showing the steel's consistency across the full 41-inch overall length. No decorative etching interrupts the surface - the geometry of the grind does the visual work on its own.

The tsuka is built on a full-tang foundation, wrapped first in black PU ray-skin (same) and then finished with a tightly wound black cord ito in a classic diamond pattern. Two menuki fittings in a gold tone sit beneath the wrap, visible through the gaps in the binding. The handle proportions feel true to traditional koshirae form, and the wrapping is firm with no soft spots.

At the junction of blade and handle, a round plain iron tsuba in black provides a clean visual break. Gold-toned habaki and fittings at the collar add the only warm-metal contrast in the entire assembly - a deliberate design choice that keeps the piece grounded without going monotone. The saya is constructed from a leather-wrapped core finished in a diamond-embossed black PU surface. The texture is consistent from tip to mouth, and the black sageo cord is knotted at the kurigata in the traditional position.
