Forged from T10 carbon steel using traditional clay tempering methods, this Japanese katana develops a genuine hamon line along the blade - the visible boundary between harder edge steel and softer spine steel. The differential hardness created through this process gives the blade both a refined edge and structural resilience, a hallmark of authentic Japanese sword-making tradition.

The 41-inch blade is heat treated and oil quenched to achieve its final temper, then hand polished to bring out the natural hamon pattern. Every curve and contour of the wave pattern is unique to this individual piece, making it a one-of-a-kind collectible that reflects the skill of the smith who forged it.

A black cotton cord wraps the handle in tight, even rows over a layer of genuine white ray-skin (samegawa), providing the classic texture and grip profile found on traditional Japanese swords. The full tang construction means the steel extends completely through the handle, secured at the pommel for structural integrity.

The black saya completes the presentation with a clean, polished finish that pairs naturally with the dark cord wrap and steel fittings. At 3.0 pounds, the katana carries enough presence to feel substantial on a wall mount or display stand without being unwieldy.
