Product Details

This chokuto ninjato features a 29-inch straight blade forged from 1045 carbon steel, hardened to 58 HRC. The steel is hand-finished to a refined edge, and the blade spine carries a bold flame-pattern engraving in contrasting silver tones against the dark steel surface. The straight-edged profile distinguishes this piece from traditional curved katana designs and nods to older Japanese sword forms.

The 10.25-inch tsuka is built on a full tang core and wrapped in black polyurethane leather samegawa underneath a tight black cotton ito braid. The grip fills the hand securely and maintains the classic diamond wrap pattern visible in the close-up images. A black cord sageo with a red-accented bead ties off neatly at the koiguchi.

At the guard position sits a gold-tone alloy tsuba with a bamboo lattice motif on one face and a sculpted dragon relief on the other, adding depth and texture between the dark handle and the blade. The fuchi collar echoes the gold tone with a matching geometric pattern that complements the tsuba without competing with it.

The glossy red hardwood saya is the visual anchor of this piece. Its lacquered surface carries a hand-painted dragon in darker tones that wraps around the body of the scabbard, visible through the semi-translucent finish. At 29.5 inches, the saya fits the straight blade precisely. Collectors drawn to this colorway may also appreciate the broader Red Ninja Sword collection for similar red-and-black pairings.

With an overall length of 41 inches and a weight of 3 lbs, this ninjato occupies a solid middle ground between decorative wall pieces and hands-on collectibles. The red-black-gold palette, dragon artwork, and flame engraving give it a distinctive identity among Darkred 1045 Carbon Steel Ninjato offerings, making it a strong centerpiece for any Japanese sword collection.

  • Forged from 1045 carbon steel with a 29-inch straight blade, hand-finished edge, and flame-pattern engraving along the spine for bold visual contrast.

  • Gold-tone alloy tsuba with a bamboo lattice design pairs with black fuchi-kashira accents, balancing the red and black color scheme with refined metalwork.
  • Glossy red hardwood saya features a hand-painted dragon motif and black sageo cord, measuring 29.5 inches for secure blade housing and striking shelf presence.
  • Overall length of 41 inches with a sword weight of 3 lbs, delivering a substantial feel suited for display and collection use.

This is my second sword from TrueKatana because my first order was a 5 star rating. This order is another 5 stars. Sword quality is fantastic and looks just like the picture except the scabbard color is slightly different than the picture; the color is a reddish-orange instead of true red like the pic. But other than that, the scabbard quality is top notch. The dragon painting is great and the ninjato fits awesome. The ninjato has great balance and battle ready as described. The guard and handle are high quality and very solid. Overall, another super happy purchase!!!

Bought for my SO and they loved it. I had to remind them to not run around with a sword. They said it was the best valentines day present.
