Product Details

The blade is forged from T10 folded carbon steel and clay tempered to produce a genuine hamon - a visible temper line running along the 28.74-inch nagasa. This traditional differential hardening process creates a harder cutting edge at 58 HRC while keeping the spine resilient. The polished chrome-tone finish highlights the organic wave pattern of the hamon and the subtle grain left by the folding process, making each piece distinct. The tsuka measures 10.23 inches and is built on a hardwood core wrapped in white PU samegawa for a textured base layer. Over this, a tightly wound black cord ito runs in a traditional diamond pattern, creating a firm and comfortable grip. The black-on-white contrast between the cord and the samegawa beneath adds subtle visual depth to the handle.

Serving as the centerpiece between blade and handle, the tsuba is cast from real copper alloy and sculpted into a detailed dragon motif. Gold accent rings frame the guard, and the relief work on the dragon design catches light at multiple angles. The copper material gives the tsuba weight and durability while its dark patina complements the katana's overall black color scheme.

The saya is carved from hardwood and finished in piano lacquer, producing a smooth, high-gloss black surface with a slightly textured grain visible beneath the coating. At 30.7 inches, it houses the blade securely. A black sageo cord is tied at the kurikata in a traditional knot, maintaining the clean monochrome presentation from tip to pommel.

Overall this katana measures 41 inches in length and weighs 4.4 lbs with a full tang construction that runs the entire length of the handle. The cohesive black palette - from saya to sageo to tsuka ito - is accented only by the gold copper tones of the tsuba and the bright steel of the blade, making it a striking display piece for any serious collection.

Well made katana, I received the katana just how described, I love the hamon and everything about the fitting are nice and tight how they should be, the only thing I have to complain about is the paint job of the tsuba other than that beutiful sword thank you.

I'm decently satisfied with the quality of the katana. The only problems I've noticed is the sword is a little dull and the koiguchi is tight. The sageo is also messed up .

Craftsmanship is there. Not just the price. Edge geometry and handle built to last. Given my first wakizashi when I was 7. This will be a great starter till next time. Thanks guys.
