T10 Steel Katana with Real Hamon in Natural Wood Saya - Gold Dragon Tsuba, Brown Ito

The blade on this katana is forged from T10 high-carbon steel and subjected to differential heat treatment followed by oil quenching. The process creates a visible hamon along the length of the blade - a natural transition line between the hardened edge and the softer spine. The hand-finished surface shows subtle texture consistent with the forging process, and the chrome-bright polish makes the hamon's contour clearly legible against the steel.

The tsuka is built on a full tang core, wrapped first in black ray-skin (samegawa) for grip texture, then bound in brown cotton ito using a traditional diagonal lacing pattern. The result is a handle that sits firmly in hand with no lateral play. Brown menuki accents are seated beneath the ito at the grip's mid-points, adding both visual detail and ergonomic reference points.

The gold-tone dragon tsuba is the most visually assertive fitting on this piece. Cast with a coiled dragon in high relief against a background of churning clouds and open fretwork, it reads clearly in gold against the blade's silver tone. The saya is crafted from natural hardwood and left in its cream-beige finish. Along the lower third of the scabbard, a hand-painted dragon scene in gold, red, and blue is applied directly to the wood surface - the same dragon imagery echoed in the tsuba, making the koshirae read as a coherent set. A brown sageo cord is knotted at the koiguchi and drapes alongside the saya, matching the tsuka ito in both color and material weight.
