Product Details

The blade is forged from manganese steel and finished to a bright chrome polish, running full tang through the handle for a solid, continuous construction. A visible hamon line traces the length of the nagasa, catching light differently along the edge and spine - a hallmark of hand-finished katana craftsmanship. Each sword is individually handmade, so minor specification variations are natural to the process.

The tsuka is covered in red PU samegawa and wrapped with a red cord, keeping the grip firmly in hand while reinforcing the serpent-themed color palette. A braided red-and-gold sageo cord hangs at the kurigata, adding movement and visual contrast when the sword is displayed or handled.

The gold-tone alloy tsuba is the centerpiece of this koshirae - a coiled snake rendered in high relief with fine scale texture across its entire body. The same snake motif continues at the kashira (pommel cap) and kojiri (saya tip), giving the fittings a unified, deliberately designed look rather than a patchwork of unrelated parts.

The saya is crafted from hardwood finished in deep red lacquer, with five individual gold snake figures mounted along its surface at measured intervals. The contrast of gold metal against the lacquered red wood is the defining visual signature of this piece. Overall length is 41 inches and the sword weighs 4 lbs, shipping in a 43 x 4 x 4 inch package. The sword stand is not included. Other than the minor chipping along the scabbard and the month wait period, the piece is beautiful. The blade has a unique, kind of bubble design. It also has some nice weight to it to give a realistic feel.
