Damascus Steel Katana with Dark Red Blade, Blue Lacquer Saya & Chrysanthemum Tsuba

The blade on this katana is forged from Damascus steel and finished in a deep dark red tone that shifts toward burgundy along the spine. A visible hamon line runs the length of the edge, marking the boundary between the hardened cutting surface and the softer spine - a defining feature of traditional Japanese sword construction. The blade measures 41 inches overall and weighs 3 lbs, with a full-tang build that extends through the entire handle assembly. The tsuka is wrapped in navy blue ito cord over a white same (rayskin) base, forming the classic diamond-window pattern traditional to Japanese koshirae construction. The tsuba is cast black iron with a chrysanthemum theme - the petals are rendered in raised relief detail, with a gold chain accent running along the inner rim.
