Product Details

This T10 carbon steel katana features a 28.74-inch full tang blade with a striking hand-hammered surface texture. The irregular dents across the flat of the blade scatter light in unpredictable ways, giving each piece a one-of-a-kind visual character. Hardened to 58 HRC, the T10 steel provides excellent edge retention and structural resilience. If you appreciate this steel type, browse our full T10 Steel Katana collection for more options.

The 10.23-inch handle is built on a hardwood core wrapped in white PU samegawa, replicating the texture of traditional ray skin. Over this, black cotton cord is tightly wound in the classic hineri-maki diamond pattern, creating a secure grip with strong visual contrast against the white underlayer.

At the junction of blade and handle sits a copper tsuba engraved with kanji characters on its face. The warm copper tone provides a refined accent against the predominantly black fittings, while the round guard shape maintains a clean, traditional silhouette. Gold-toned menuki peek through the cord wrapping, adding subtle detail to the handle assembly.

The 30.7-inch saya is crafted from hardwood and coated in glossy black piano lacquer, producing a mirror-like surface that catches ambient light. A copper habaki collar at the mouth ensures a snug blade fit, and the black-white sageo cord is neatly tied at the kurikata for a polished finishing touch.

Measuring 41 inches in overall length and weighing 4.4 lbs, this katana carries a solid, balanced presence. The combination of hammered T10 steel, copper accents, and piano lacquer saya makes it a standout collectible piece for enthusiasts who value both craftsmanship and visual impact. Sword stand or holder is not included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the blade hardness and steel type of this katana?
This katana uses T10 carbon steel hardened to 58 HRC. The full tang blade measures 28.74 inches and features a hand-hammered surface texture that creates an irregular, light-scattering pattern across the steel.
What makes the hand-hammered blade finish unique?
The hand-hammered dents are applied individually during forging, so no two blades share the exact same pattern. This texture gives the steel surface a rugged, organic look and scatters light differently depending on the viewing angle.
What materials are used for the tsuba and saya?
The tsuba is made from copper with engraved kanji characters on its surface, adding a warm metallic accent. The saya is crafted from hardwood with a glossy black piano lacquer finish, paired with a copper habaki collar and black-white sageo cord.

got it as a gift for my boyfriend and we both LOVE IT! very beautiful. everything looked and felt very well made. it arrived without any damage or errors. i got a name engraved on the blade which also looks perfect. 10/10 very well done.

also i had to speak with customer service regarding the engraving. they were very helpful and quickly responsive. and i found out that engravings are free which to me adds to how compelled i would be to recommend this shop.
