Product Details

This katana is built around a 28.74-inch blade forged from 1060 carbon steel, heat-treated to 58 HRC. The full tang construction runs the entire length of the handle, providing structural continuity from tip to pommel. The blade surface carries a black finish that gives it a dark, polished look, catching light along the edge line where the steel transitions to a chrome-toned bevel.

The 10.23-inch tsuka is constructed from hardwood and layered with red PU samegawa, creating a vivid base color beneath the black cotton ito wrap. The traditional diamond pattern of the ito lets the red samegawa peek through at regular intervals, producing a striking red-and-black color scheme that stands out against the otherwise dark aesthetic of the sword. A pair of menuki sit beneath the wrapping to improve hand purchase.

At the junction of blade and handle, the alloy tsuba features an openwork floral motif with petals cut into a circular black frame. A brass-toned habaki collar sits just below the guard, adding a warm gold accent that echoes the tsuba's decorative intent. This combination of black ironwork and gold-toned fittings reflects a classic Japanese design sensibility found across many Hand Forged Katana in this style.

The saya is carved from hardwood and coated in piano lacquer, resulting in a mirror-like black gloss surface. A black sageo cord threads through a gold-ringed kurikata, and the koiguchi (scabbard mouth) provides a snug fit for the blade. The overall finish is sleek and uniform, with the high-gloss lacquer complementing the dark blade and fittings.

Measuring 40.5 inches in total length with a blade width of 1.26 inches and a weight of 2.88 lbs, this Full Tang Japanese Katana Sword is proportioned for display and collection. The coordinated black-and-red color palette, brass accents, and floral tsuba design make it a cohesive piece suited for collectors who value both material quality and visual detail.

Absolutely love the swords, I took 6 and a half years of katana and Chinese straight sword and it just brings me back to 4 years ago when I used to uses these kind of swords. Only issue is when I did a normal breakdown I found minor internal damage. Nothing to major or to worry about.
