Product Details

The blade is forged from 1095 carbon steel - a high-carbon alloy known for its hardness and edge retention - heat-treated to 62 HRC and finished in a warm gold tone that runs the full 28.74-inch length. No hamon is present; the gold surface treatment gives the blade a uniform, visually striking glow against the black fittings. The geometry is a classic single-edged profile with a refined tip, part of a 1095 Carbon Steel Ninjato lineage that balances form and durability.

The tsuka measures 10.62 inches and is wrapped in black cotton ito over genuine rayskin (same) in black - the textured same nodes visible beneath the diagonal ito wrap add grip security and a traditional tactile quality. The full-tang construction anchors the blade through the handle core, ensuring structural integrity across the full 40.55-inch overall length.

The black alloy tsuba is round with an open cutout pattern - visible as a bold circular sukashi silhouette in the product images. A gold-tone habaki sits at the blade collar, bridging the transition between blade and tsuba with a warm metallic contrast against the otherwise dark fittings.

The hardwood saya is the visual centerpiece of this piece. Lacquered in a two-tone scheme, the upper section is finished in deep teal with visible shimmer, while the lower half carries a white base with hand-painted black-ink character artwork - a dramatic warrior figure rendered in bold linework. A black sageo cord is tied at the kurigata, completing the Japanese Ninja Sword presentation in full koshirae style.

At 2.8 lb and 40.55 inches overall, this sword ships in a 42.9 x 3.9 x 3.5 in package. The combination of gold blade, teal-white painted saya, and black handle hardware creates a high-contrast display piece that reads as distinctly individual on a wall mount or display stand.

  • Manganese steel blade, 28.74 in long, heat-treated to 62 HRC, finished in a warm gold tone that catches light along the full length of the single-edged profile.
  • Full-tang construction with black cotton ito wrap over real rayskin (same) on a 10.62 in tsuka - providing a secure, traditional two-hand grip.
  • Hardwood saya lacquered in a two-tone teal and white finish with hand-painted character artwork on the lower half; black sageo cord completes the look.
  • Round black alloy tsuba with open cutout (sukashi) design; gold-tone habaki visible at the blade collar adds a warm metal accent at the transition point.
  • Overall length 40.55 in, blade 28.74 in, weight 2.8 lb - balanced proportions suited for display or koshirae-style presentation.

A lot more heft than I thought. But great for training, and it’s beautiful.

I like this katana very much. Weight feels good in my hand. Easily makes "swoosh"
The golden blade looks awesome and is sharp. Handle is tight and consistent. I have other samurai katanas, finally got a ninja katana and is excellent. I'm digging the Ninja Scroll looking graphic.
