Product Details

This three-piece Odachi set is built around 1095 carbon steel blades - a high-carbon alloy prized for its ability to hold a refined edge and develop a bright, mirror-like polish along the flat. Each nagasa measures 40.5 inches in length with a 1.26-inch width at the widest point, producing the extended, gently curved silhouette that defines the Odachi form. The blades are hand-finished to bring out the steel's natural contrast between the hardened edge and the softer spine.

The three swords are visually distinct yet unified in construction. The first features an orange lacquered hardwood saya with a warm amber gloss, paired with a burnt-orange tsuka-ito cord wrap. The second pairs a deep teal lacquered saya with a matching dark green cord wrap. The third completes the set with a black lacquered saya and black cord wrap, offering the sharpest contrast of the trio. All three saya are decorated with gold chrysanthemum mon medallions spaced along the body - a classic Japanese family crest motif rendered in bold metallic relief.

Each tsuba is cast from alloy in a WW2-era inspired squared form with rounded corners, the surface covered in densely engraved floral scrollwork finished in antiqued silver. The oval hitsu-ana cutout sits centered within the guard, a period-accurate detail that gives each fitting a grounded, historical character. Silver habaki collars seat cleanly against the saya mouth, and matching menuki accents are visible beneath the cord wraps on each handle.

All three swords ship with braided sageo cords in a red, white, and black diamond pattern - long enough for traditional knotted carry or display wrapping. The full tang construction extends through each handle, keeping the 3.17 lb weight balanced between blade and grip across all three pieces. The set ships at 4.4 lb in a 43.3 x 3.93-inch package. Sword stand not included.

  • Forged from 1095 carbon steel, each blade in this three-piece Odachi set delivers a refined, hand-finished edge with a polished surface that highlights the natural grain and graceful curvature of the nagasa.
  • Full tang construction runs the length of each handle, distributing weight evenly across the orange, teal, and black cord-wrapped grips for consistent balance across all three swords.
  • Each hardwood saya is finished with premium natural lacquer - the orange saya features a warm amber gloss, the teal saya a deep jade sheen, and the black saya a high-contrast matte-gloss finish, each accented with gold chrysanthemum mon medallions.
  • WW2-era inspired alloy tsuba on each sword features densely engraved floral scrollwork in an antiqued silver finish, with a traditional oval hitsu-ana cutout - a historically grounded design detail that anchors the set's aesthetic.
  • Each sword includes a braided sageo cord in matching red-white-black pattern and a kurikata-fitted saya clip, completing the traditional mounting for wall or stand display. Note: sword stand not included.
