Everything on the Katana was tight, Ito wrap, the fittings, tsuba, habaki. The blade does NOT wable. Heavy duty T10, for ridged durability, and a shape and elegant taper for the blade profile. Made for an excellent bamboo cutting sword.
The blade after cutting bamboo after bamboo, (28 stalks) had preformed above my expectations. It showed no signs of chipping, wearing, or anything that would affect the blade and make it go to failure.
It was right out of the box sharp and choji oiled.
I highly recommend this katana, a very skilled craftsman had assembled and forged this T10 blade. The Hamon is absolutely perfect and authentic.
Despite the reviews on Reddit, I was a little weary of dropping that cash on a sword like this, but it is for sure worth it.
I only hope that every katana on this site is assembled, forged with such skill and pride. For a Chinese sword made with Japanese traditional smithing, I can safely say that the katana you might be looking at is worth it.

The only thing I did was wipe the blade with some blade oil to even out the shine. Definitely a wonderful piece for the price. The full tang is evident when swinging, the blade has a convex grind, the craftsmanship is superb for such an relatively low-priced sword. Absolutely love the purchase.
Oh and the blade is more of a burnt orange/red orange blade color depending on lighting, as opposed to crimson, which i was a bit disappointed about. I envisioned a more red/darkred tinted blade, but that is the most I can critique honestly. Seriously appreciate the attention to detail! I can only imagine the quality of the $2000 swords, maybe in another life I'd be able to afford one of those, haha.

I've ordered 6 swords from Truekatana. This picture represents a Chinese Straight Sword and Chinese Broadsword I purchsed. I'm not a metalurgist, forgemaster or swordmaster. I learned a little Shao lin and wu shu broadsword in my youth, but that's about it. All that said these swords are truly functional, beautifully balanced and of exquisite workmanship. Sword was in great condition, tightly packaged, with no flaws. The blade was sharp to the touch and covered in protective oil in a plastic sleeve. The scabbard was covered with plastic that was easy to remove as well. The box itself that it came in was stryofoam, was taped several times around and was form fitted to the actual sword. The box did smell really weird, so as a heads up would recommend opening outside then bringing it in. Other than the smell though, the sword was in top condition for the price asked.

Authentic Japanese Katana Sword T10 Folded Clay Tempered Steel Real Hamon TK-JP-KT19135 . I am very pleased with the quality of this sword. Everything fits nice and tight, there is no blade rattle once in saya. The Tsuba (Guard) and Kashira (pommel) show no casting imperfections. The Tsuka ito (Cord Warp) is the best I have felt. All parts are of quality. Although I haven't used it Tameshigiri (test cutting), I expect the blade to perform well. Small negatives - first, be in no hurry to receive the sword...3.5 weeks for me. Second, the list of "Do not ...." with this sword seems excessive and sometimes humorous.

The sword has a silver scabbard and hand guard. That's not what I ordered, I wanted the white one. Also the last 3 inches of the blade at the hilt was dull. Beyond that the blade is fairly sharp.
