The actual length was exactly as stated, the construction looks solid and there are no cheap vanity parts, and the scabbard absolutely matches the blade. My son was super excited and loves the piece. Arrived in timely fashion. Everything as described in many other reviews: well-packaged and preserved, with a heavy coat of oil under a plastic sleeve to protect the blade from rust. The katana itself is heavy, solid, and appears to be well-made. The edge is quite sharp, but probably not as sharp as some would prefer. This is easily remedied by someone who knows what they are doing. We haven't tried it on a pig carcass or anything yet. :) Will update should the opportunity arise.
