Not differerentlially tempered, but blade is sharp

Maybe my expectations were a little high because I thought that there was inventory in the California factory but I had to wait some time for them to be shipped from China which took a while. After review I noticed a notch on the blade of the Shikomizue Sword and some small defects in design. Overall an Ok product.

Only complaint I had with my first order, in that the sheathe was a bit chipped, was not present here. The swords and their scabbards are in great condition I couldn't be happier with the products, very good stuff!

awesome sword! great quality and sharpens w ease. i wish it fit a little more secure in the sheath, when carrying it bounces around a little. one thing i would like like to note is that the finish on the handle does make it really slick in the bare hands when swinging.

Looked great when arrived other than some light scuffs on scabbard and having to lightly file inside of scabard for smoother drawing of and sheathing of sword.

Its a beautiful looking sword, handle is wrapped very nicely, only problem is when swinging the sword it does make a clanging noise which im guessing is due to the blade against the hand guard, i also noticed it doesn't come with the peice that goes on the bottom of the blade where it meets the hand guard also causing the noise which i guess they didn't add it due to the Damascus fuller look. Still a good price for it. I am concerned with using it for cutting practice.
